Alex Schwazer vince il titolo uomini in 18:46.49 davanti a Jean Jacques Nkouloukidi (19:11.13) e Daniele Paris (20:02.53).

Grande determinazione buttata in pista ad Ancona, nei 5 chilometri (distanza per lui fino ad oggi improbabile), marciati a ritmo della quarta miglior prestazione italiana di sempre, 18:46.49. Oltre che miglior crono mondiale 2010 (davanti al 18:47.57 del francese Yohan Diniz). Che per un cinquantista come lui, reduce peraltro dal lavoro sulla quota del Teide, alle Canarie, è il segno di una condizione già più che interessante. Passaggi tutti in linea con l'obiettivo (3:43.1, 7:24.6, 11:11.3, 14:59.6), e sul volto, stampata quell'espressione lì, quella voglia di fare risultato. Dietro, un discreto Jean Jacques Nkoloukidi (19:11.13), ma ciò che resta negli occhi è soprattutto la grinta del campione olimpico, del protagonista che vuol tornare a prendersi la scena.

Nella gara donne invece il titolo di Campionessa Italiana va a Sibilla Di Vincenzo in 12:42.15 davanti a Eleonora Anna Giorgi (12:55.86) e Agnese Ragonesi (13:06.22) che pur gravata da due proposte di squalifica riesce ad avere la meglio su Antonella Palmisano (13:15.39) ed una sempreverde Elisabetta Perrone (42 anni - 13:29.89)
